Each Bored Ape holder received a free Mutant Serum through an airdrop, allowing them to create a Mutant Ape while keeping their original Bored Ape unchanged.
At the same time, Yuga Labs introduced an additional ten thousand Mutant Apes for public sale. These were sold in a Dutch auction, making MAYC one of the first NFT collections to blend exclusive holder rewards with broader public access.
